Dieterich, Ill. (January 23, 2025) With the start of a new year, often comes new resolutions and goals. If renovating your home is at the top of your goals for 2025, Taylor Wright with Wright’s Furniture & Flooring, wants to educate people on popular trends to incorporate into revamping their spaces for the new year.
Wright, who helps lead residential and commercial design services at Wright at Home, is a fifth-generation member of the Wright Family and has been working as an interior designer for the past 10 years. She’s passionate about helping customers at Wright at Home customize their homes and assist customers with designing everything from drapes to window arrangements to custom backsplashes.
“At Wright at Home, we work with our customers to help pull together every aspect into a beautiful, cohesive design that fits their needs, style, and budget,” said Wright. “There are a handful of trends we are seeing pop up as we kick off the new year, including people buying more modern pieces with a slight nod to the past. Whether it’s a solid wood cabinet or a traditional armchair, people are looking to enhance their rooms through contemporary styles, but prefer to include either a vintage, retro or traditional piece to stand out. This look can elevate your space and include something timeless that can be passed down for generations.”
Wright said when it comes to window treatments and jazzing up their rooms, customers have been on the hunt for subtle drapes. Whether that’s a neutral color or a sheer material, these curtains can be practical by helping light shine through and add an element of elegance to any space.
“Curves and soft edges are also all the rage in 2025 and something we are prepared for our customers to be on the hunt for this upcoming year,” said Wright. “Most people are used to a traditional dining room table having straight edges, but this year, roundedness, slight curvature or a live edge is in. When it comes to a couch or seating arrangement, soft edges are in and can often be viewed as more welcoming, and child-friendly and add dimension to a room. If you are looking to revamp just your basic living room, I suggest starting with a sectional or chair with some soft edges.”
Wright said some colors to look out for in upholstered furniture are earthy neutrals, cinnamon, dusty pink, forest green and blue tones. She said when it comes to wooden pieces, warm, natural darker tones will continue to be a popular pick.
