Effingham, IL – January 21, 2023, The Effingham County Chamber held its Annual Chamber Gala on Saturday, January 21 at the Thelma Keller Convention Center where Designs Unlimited was honored as a 2023 Excellence in Business recipient.
The Excellence in Business award was created in 2011 as a way for member businesses to identify and nominate fellow members for the outstanding contributions they make to our communities and the local economy through continued growth, innovation, and community support. These businesses exemplify outstanding business practice as demonstrated through their mission, customer satisfaction, commitment to quality, leadership, and employee development.

In November of 2005, Scott and Tina Brumleve followed their dream, took a leap of faith, and started Designs Unlimited in the basement of their home. From the start, this local community gave them the chance they needed! The business grew quickly, and in 2007 they moved into their current location at 201 S Pearl Street in Teutopolis.
Designs Unlimited, Inc is a full-service merchandising company specializing in the sale of screen-printed and embroidered apparel and promotional products, including laser engraved items. They offer online stores, employee apparel programs, and select fulfillment services. Most apparel products are embellished internally in an effort to control both product quality and turnaround times, and they use high quality decoration methods, products and production machinery.
Designs Unlimited services school districts, athletic teams, and a variety of corporate markets across Illinois and parts of the Midwest. They have partnerships with a wide range of brands and vendors in order to provide a full variety of quality product offerings. Hundreds of hours are invested each year in product research & education, decoration techniques and methods, and studying new trends and products.
At DU, their goal is to help build “connections” through their product offerings. They connect companies to their brands, customers to their employees, and people to their communities and passions in life. They strive to build long-lasting relationships through positivity, kindness, dependability, and a superior end user experience.
In 2021, with a 3-year revenue growth of 112%, Designs Unlimited ranked on the Inc. 5000 list, the most prestigious ranking of the nation’s fastest growing private companies within the United States. This annual list represents a unique look at the most successful companies within the American economy’s most dynamic segment—its independent small businesses.
After several expansions and renovations to their existing facility, construction of a new corporate headquarters began in June of 2022. Their new facility will be located at 1106 W Jefferson Street in Teutopolis, with an estimated completion date of March 2023. With the move, they’ll gain much needed square footage and will also add additional presses and equipment!
