Effingham, IL – July 1, 2026 Kemper CPA Group is proud to announce the promotion of Clayton Ruckman, CPA, to Partner in the firm’s Effingham, Illinois office.
Clayton joined Kemper CPA Group in 2021 after gaining experience in private-sector accounting. Since joining the firm, he has continued to expand his role and areas of specialization, earning his CPA designation in 2023 and being promoted to manager in 2025.
In his role at Kemper, Clayton specializes in state and local tax (SALT), multistate corporate and partnership taxation, state income and franchise tax, and individual tax planning and preparation. He also serves as a firmwide resource for SALT, helping clients and colleagues address complex tax questions with practical guidance.
“We knew immediately that he had the potential to be a key employee in our office,” said Stacey Mette, CPA, Partner-in-Charge of Kemper CPA Group’s Effingham office. “He is an extremely driven individual who has taken on leadership roles in our office.”
Clayton earned dual degrees in Accounting and Business Administration from MacMurray College. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Illinois CPA Society.
As partner, Clayton will continue serving clients through the Effingham office while supporting Kemper’s continued growth in specialized tax advisory services.
