Effingham, IL – December 15, 2023, The Effingham County Chamber is honored to extend a heartfelt welcome to LeAnn’s Light, a philanthropic initiative founded in memory of LeAnn Schroeder Hardiek, a brave mother who fought a valiant battle against breast cancer.
LeAnn Schroeder Hardiek, a beloved member of the Effingham, Illinois community, was diagnosed with breast cancer at the young age of 29. Despite facing adversity, LeAnn’s spirit and determination inspired her community to rally around her and her two young sons. LeAnn’s Light was born out of her idea and passion to give back to a community that had shown immeasurable generosity during her own challenging times.
LeAnn’s Light, also known as the LeAnn Schroeder Hardiek Friendship Endowment, focuses on providing support to the children (aged 18 and under) of cancer patients. Understanding the challenges and worries these children face, LeAnn’s Light offers gift cards that can be used for various needs, ranging from meals and toys to unexpected school-related expenses and entertainment that provides a comforting distraction.
The Effingham County Chamber applauds the compassionate mission of LeAnn’s Light, recognizing the importance of easing the burden on families facing the challenges of cancer. By welcoming LeAnn’s Light to its membership, the Chamber aims to amplify the impact of this noble initiative within the local community.
