Effingham, IL – November 3, 2026 – What started with a love of baking and creativity has grown into Frosted Sky Bakery, a Teutopolis-based home bakery owned by Shaylee Runde and one of the newest members of the Effingham County Chamber.
Frosted Sky Bakery specializes in custom cakes, cookies, cupcakes and other sweet treats for customers throughout Effingham County and surrounding communities. For Shaylee, the business is an opportunity to combine two things she enjoys: creating something from scratch and making it personal to the customer and occasion.
From birthdays and weddings to showers, holidays and business events, Frosted Sky Bakery creates custom buttercream cakes, decorated sugar cookies and cupcakes in a variety of themes, colors and designs. Customers can bring their own ideas and inspiration to help create something that fits their celebration.
Shaylee also offers gourmet New York-style cookies in flavors such as chocolate chip, peanut butter cup, Oreo and frosted animal cookies, giving customers options beyond custom-decorated orders.
One of Shaylee’s favorite parts of owning Frosted Sky Bakery is seeing an idea come together and creating something her customers can enjoy as part of an important moment or celebration. The relationships she has built with customers along the way have also helped the business grow.
As a small business owner, Shaylee is grateful for the support Frosted Sky Bakery has received from Effingham County and surrounding communities and looks forward to continuing to grow while being part of customers’ celebrations along the way.
Frosted Sky Bakery is cottage food certified and operates by appointment and scheduled pickup in Teutopolis. Customers are encouraged to place custom orders in advance to allow time for planning and preparation.
