Effingham– Congressman, Mike Bost, joined Effingham County Board Chairman, Josh Douthit, Tuesday for a tour of Flex N Gate in Effingham. Flex N Gate is a leading manufacturing company that produces auto parts for both Ford and Tesla at its Effingham location. Located on the south side of the city, Flex N Gate calls the former World Color Press building its home.
Congressman Bost saw first-hand the improvements and upgrades made to the facility by Flex N Gate and learned there are currently approximately 500 employees with future plans of an increase up to 1200 employees. Congressman Bost shared, “I am committed to the communities across the 12th District and will listen to the needs of local business leaders promoting growth for the manufacturing industry and leading to the creation of jobs for our residents. It is important we keep manufacturing jobs here in America and more importantly in Illinois.” Congressman Bost noted Flex N Gate is a first-class operation and applauds the company in providing stable, good-paying jobs for southern Illinois residents.
Chairman Douthit stated, “Effingham County is fortunate to be anchored by the City of Effingham. The majority of our county residents work here and Flex N Gate’s presence is an example of the efforts of city officials to recruit and retain leading manufacturing organizations in the City of Effingham creating quality job opportunities for county residents. I appreciate the support that Congressman Bost has shown Effingham County and l am grateful for the relationship that has been established in a joint effort of meeting the needs of Effingham County residents.”
Also taking the tour with Congressman Bost was Effingham Mayor Mike Schutzbach, Deputy City Administrator Dennis Presley and Economic Development Director Todd Hull.
