Meat Department – Help

We are hiring a dependable Meat Department Wrapper / Clean-Up to support our meat department operations. This role focuses on wrapping, labeling, and maintaining clean, sanitary work areas to ensure product quality and food safety.

16-28hrs a week | paid leave | ESOP & 401K | $15.50/hr

Key Responsibilities:

• Weigh, wrap, and label meat products accurately using scales and packaging equipment
• Rotate stock and ensure proper FIFO (first-in, first-out) handling
• Clean and sanitize work surfaces, equipment, cutting boards, knives, and display cases per store and health code standards
• Remove packaging waste and dispose of trash and recycling properly
• Assist with receiving and storing deliveries when needed
• Monitor product temperatures and report concerns to supervisor
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and personal hygiene procedures
• Support inventory counts and restocking of cases and shelves
• Perform other duties as assigned by meat department manager

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a meat department, grocery, or food-prep setting preferred but not required
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately
• Basic math skills for weighing and labeling
• Comfortable with repetitive tasks and standing for extended periods
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs safely and work in cool/refrigerated environments
• Strong attention to cleanliness and food safety practices
• Valid food handler certification preferred or willingness to obtain one
• Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented

Requirements:

• You must be available weekends and holidays
• You must be 18 years of age
