Visit Effingham will be hosting the VW Welcomefest Downtown Party from 5 to 7:30 p.m. on Friday, June 16^th, and you’re invited to join the welcome ‘wagen’!

Volkwagens will parade down Jefferson Avenue at approximately 5:30 p.m. to join the party, parking in the spaces surrounding the Historic Effingham County Courthouse Museum and bringing the Mid America Motorworks: Air-Cooled Volkswagen Fun Run Road Tour to a close. We encourage residents to come downtown, Friday night, and watch the VWs roll in!

Friday night, enjoy delicious festival fare from Newell Family and tasty treats from Homewood Grill, along with live musical entertainment from Doty-Dexter-Westcott Trio. While you’re downtown, stop by Visit Effingham’s tent and enter to win a retro KoolTunes 14-qt. Igloo cooler, and – of course – be sure to check out the wide variety of Volkswagens parked along the square! We have more fun planned for the kids this year, too, including coloring books, bubbles, sidewalk chalk, a caricature artist and free face painting by Make on Main.
