Effingham, Illinois – United Way of Effingham County is collecting funds for tornado relief to help with damage caused by last night’s tornado. Those who wish to donate can donate online, call the United Way office or mail donations specifying they wish to donate to tornado relief. These funds will be used separate from the normal operations and donations and will be specifically designated for tornado relief.
In addition to collecting funds, United Way is assisting in the relief efforts. If you are needing assistance, you can complete the Assistance Request Form that has been created. This form asks for your contact information and a brief description of your assistance needed. United Way will be in contact with you as soon as possible to either provide assistance or guide you to available resources who can.
“We never want to see a tragic event hit our area,” said Emily Hille, Executive Director of United Way of Effingham County. “But Effingham County rallies together for their community like none I’ve ever seen any time one does. It truly is heartwarming. We are here to help in any way we can at United Way. Please reach out no matter how big or small your ask is.”
