Effingham County Jobs for Business Success (EC-JOBS) is a web-based platform created specifically for Effingham County school districts, businesses, and Lake Land College. EC-JOBS creates a talent pipeline from school to work for high school students, community college students, parents, displaced workers, and incumbent workers.
Led by Effingham County Chamber Workforce Development Director Jeff Fritchtnitch, EC-JOBS offers two components: educational and business.
The five school districts in Effingham County agreed to utilize it as a teaching and learning tool beginning in fifth grade. It will be used for career exploration, soft-skills development, and employment opportunities for high school students entering the workforce directly after graduation, as well as displaced and incumbent workers.
Effingham County businesses will be able to share employment opportunities, skills necessary to be successful within their business, and steps to apply and interview for open positions.
“This initiative combines a wealth of information about employment opportunities that will make it easier for Effingham County residents to bridge that gap between employers and employee,” President & CEO Lucinda Hart said. “EC-JOBS will also serve as an educational tool for our youth and adults as they learn more about employment opportunities and what skills, education, or certificates may be required for these jobs.”
More information about EC-JOBS can be found online at ECJobs.org, or by calling the Chamber at (217) 342-4147.
