Kara is an experienced attorney in Taylor Law’s litigation group and regularly handles general civil litigation matters including personal injury, business representation in commercial and employment disputes, real estate litigation, and municipal and governmental litigation.

Kara is originally from Cowden, Illinois. She earned her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign in 2003, majoring in political science. Kara received her Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from Indiana University School of Law, Bloomington, Indiana and was admitted to the Illinois Bar in in 2006. She is admitted into practice in the state courts of Illinois, United States Court of Appeals, Seventh Circuit, and the United States District Courts in the Central District, Northern District, and Southern District.

Kara is a member of the Effingham County Bar Association and the Illinois State Bar Association. She also serves as the Secretary and Vice President of Legislative Affairs for the Effingham County Chamber of Commerce and is the President of the Board for the Effingham Sportsbackers.

Kara resides in the Effingham community with her husband, Mike, and their two children.

Andrew focuses his practice in the courtroom, handling both civil and criminal matters in State and Federal Courts throughout Illinois. He has regularly represented both plaintiffs and defendants in personal injury cases and has prosecuted and defended a variety of criminal cases in his career, ranging from first-degree murder cases to traffic citations.

He received his law degree from the University of Notre Dame in 2015 and his undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 2012. He has been practicing law in Illinois since 2015. Andrew is a member of the Effingham County Bar Association and the Illinois State Bar Association.

He is currently President of the Effingham Noon Rotary Club and is a member of St. Anthony Church. Andrew lives in Effingham with his wife, Olivia, and their three children.

 

 

 

Joel is an experienced estate planning and estate administration attorney in Taylor Law’s Transactional Group and regularly handles complex estate administration, estate tax matters, estate planning, and real estate transactions.

Joel received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Freed-Hardeman University in Henderson, Tennessee, in 2010, graduating with University Honors. He received his Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from Vanderbilt University Law School in Nashville, Tennessee, and received the Certificate of Law and Business. He was admitted to the Illinois Bar in 2013.

He is an active member of the Effingham County Bar Association and Illinois Bar Association and serves as Treasurer of his church. Joel lives in Effingham with his wife, Leigh Ann, and their four children.
