Teutopolis, IL: Siemer Milling Company recently hosted representatives from The University of Illinois System.
This was the fourth annual University of Illinois System Leadership Tour, undertaken to help senior officials of the U of I to better understand economic and social developments in all parts of the state. The last stop on this year’s Tour was at Siemer Milling Company in Teutopolis, prompted by Siemer’s recent investment in the UIUC wheat breeding program, providing support for the work of wheat breeding scientist Dr. Jessica Rutkoski and establishing the Illinois Wheat Initiative to extend funding to other academic wheat research projects.
Pictured in the photos are Rick Siemer, U of I President Dr. Tim Killeen, wheat breeder Dr. Jessica Rutkoski.
