EFFINGHAM, Ill. – July 2, 2026 – Midland States Bank is pleased to announce the promotion of Aaron Myers to Market President for the Effingham market and surrounding communities.

In his new role, Myers will provide leadership to the area’s commercial banking team, establish and maintain key customer relationships, and support growth through cross-functional collaboration across Midland’s commercial, consumer, and wealth management lines of business.

Myers brings 28 years of banking experience to the position, including more than two decades in commercial lending and relationship management.

Since joining Effingham State Bank in 1998, Myers has served in a variety of roles of increasing responsibility, including Bank Supervisor, Consumer Loan Officer, Credit Analyst Officer, and most recently Senior Team Lead and Commercial Relationship Manager. His experience spans commercial lending, credit analysis, portfolio management, profitability modeling, and bank operations, providing him with a comprehensive understanding of both the banking industry and the needs of local businesses.

Myers is actively involved in the Effingham community as he currently serves on the boards of the Salvation Army of Effingham County and Crisis Nursery of Effingham County and volunteers as a baseball and basketball coach for area youth sports. He previously served on the board of the Effingham Performance Center and has dedicated much of his career to supporting organizations that strengthen the region’s quality of life and economic vitality.

Myers earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Business Administration from McKendree College, now McKendree University. He has also completed numerous banking education programs, including Commercial Lending School, Residential Real Estate Lending School, and Basic Consumer Lending School.
