EFFINGHAM, Ill. – HSHS Medical Group is pleased to welcome Eduardo Vaca, MD, a board-certified general surgeon (ABS) to HSHS Medical Group Multispecialty Care – Effingham at 900 W. Temple, Bldg. B, Suite 2500, Effingham. Dr. Vaca specializes in minimally invasive and robotic procedures while delivering compassionate, high-quality care to every patient. He focuses on clear communication and individualized treatment. Fluent in both English and Spanish, Dr. Vaca is committed to serving diverse communities and ensuring that each patient feels heard and supported throughout their care journey.
Dr. Vaca earned his medical degree from Rush Medical College in Chicago, where he was recognized for academic excellence and leadership. He completed his general surgery residency at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine in Kansas City, Missouri, where he served as chief resident. During his general surgery residency, he earned multiple awards for his clinical skill, technical ability, and commitment to patient care. He then pursued an advanced fellowship in gastrointestinal and minimally invasive surgery at Henry Ford St. John Hospital in Detroit, further expanding his expertise in laparoscopic and robotic techniques.
