SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — Hospital Sisters Health System (HSHS) hospitals in Illinois are pleased to announce the top names chosen for babies born at HSHS St. John’s in Springfield, HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial in Effingham and HSHS St. Francis in Litchfield last year. Over 3,350 babies were delivered at these three central Illinois hospitals in 2025.

Across the Illinois and Wisconsin hospitals within Hospital Sisters Health System, Oliver and Charlotte were the most popular names chosen among the over 6,200 babies born in 2025. Additionally, July was the most common birth month across the system, followed closely by September.

St. Anthony’s Women and Infants Center team regularly conducts perinatal drills coordinated by St. John’s South-Central Illinois Perinatal Center, ensuring all staff are highly trained for any obstetric situation. St. Francis Hospital’s Family Maternity Center is Cribs for Kids certified as a safe sleep leader, recognizing its commitment to best practices in infant safe sleep. Cribs for Kids is a national safe sleep initiative dedicated to reducing infant mortality.
