(Charleston, IL) – Eastern Illinois University has once again been recognized for its affordability in the State of Illinois, according to KTVI FOX 2, a FOX broadcasting affiliate based in St. Louis.

Using data rankings from Niche.com, Stacker compiled a list of the best four-year colleges in Illinois. A variety of factors were evaluated, including tuition, student-to-faculty ratios, acceptance and graduation rates, and university location. In the tuition category, EIU ranked second overall, and first in the State for affordability amongst all non-system, public regional universities.

“At Eastern Illinois University, value and affordability go hand-in-hand,” said Josh Norman, EIU’s Vice President for Enrollment Management. “A critical piece of our mission is to provide an accessible, affordable, and most importantly, an exceptional education, creating value for our students that is second to none.” EIU regularly is recognized for its affordability in Illinois, as are many of its specific programs. Recent and past examples include recognition as a Most Affordable Online College and University by College Consensus (2023) and a Top 4 Best Value University in America by College Consensus (2022), as well as distinctions for maintaining one of the most affordable nursing programs in Illinois by RNtoMSN.org and Most Affordable MBA programs in the nation (2021).
