Effingham, IL – May 1, 2026 – The Effingham County Chamber will host its Scholarship Breakfast on Friday, May 8, from 7:30 to 9:00 a.m. at the Holiday Inn Effingham. The event will celebrate local students and adult learners who have been selected as recipients of the Chamber Community Scholarship Program.
The Scholarship Breakfast brings together community members, business leaders, and supporters to recognize individuals who are continuing their education and building the future workforce of Effingham County. Through the program, the Chamber awards $1,000 scholarships to graduating high school seniors and adult learners pursuing post-secondary education in a variety of fields, including healthcare, childcare, vocational trades, and more.
Since its inception in 1996, the Chamber Community Scholarship Program has awarded $278,000 in scholarships to 238 recipients, reflecting the community’s ongoing commitment to education and workforce development.
“This event is a meaningful way for our community to come together and support the next generation,” said Katie Koester, President & CEO of the Effingham County Chamber. “These recipients represent dedication, hard work, and a strong commitment to their future and our region.”
