Effingham, IL – September 29, 2023, The Effingham County Chamber is gearing up for the 10th Anniversary of Trades Skills & Manufacturing Day, a milestone celebration presented by the City of Effingham. This special event on Thursday, October 5, aims to highlight the profound significance of the trades, skills, and manufacturing industries while providing high school students with a glimpse into modern career opportunities available within Effingham County.
Trades Skills & Manufacturing Day, often referred to as TSM Day, promises a day of inspiration and enlightenment for local youth. The event features guided tours of various local facilities, enabling students to witness firsthand the innovative processes and diverse careers these industries offer. Many of these careers leverage advanced technology, automation, and robotics to create products that are distributed globally.
Trades Skills & Manufacturing Day offers students an opportunity to explore the facilities of various tour hosts who open their doors to showcase potential career paths.
Participating tour hosts include Dan Hecht Chevrolet-Toyota, Effingham Machining & Assembly Components (EMAC), John Boos & Co., The Krusteaz Company, Metrics Works – Effingham / Versatech A Genuen Company, Nova Solutions Inc., Peerless of America, Probst Auto Body, Pyramid Marble & Granite, Quad Graphics, Sherwin Williams, Siemer Milling Company, Stevens Industries, Inc., Three Z Printing, and Y-Yard Auto Parts.
During lunch, company booths are set up to host a mini-career fair, providing students with valuable insights into the array of employment options available to them.
