Effingham County, Illinois — The organization formerly known as 57/70 Task Force is proud to announce its official rebrand and transition to a new name: Beacon82. This change reflects the organization’s continued growth, evolving outreach efforts, and long-term commitment to education, prevention, advocacy, and community collaboration surrounding human trafficking awareness and exploitation prevention.

Since its founding, the organization has worked alongside community leaders, nonprofits, schools, faith-based organizations, businesses, and public sector partners throughout Effingham County and surrounding communities to strengthen awareness efforts and encourage proactive community engagement. While the organization’s name is changing, its mission and dedication to the community remain steadfast.

“The transition to Beacon82 represents more than a new name,” said Ann Deters. “It reflects the direction of our organization moving forward. One centered on awareness, prevention, collaboration, and empowering communities through education and engagement.”

The name Beacon82 was selected to represent guidance, visibility, and hope, reflecting the organization’s commitment to awareness and community education.

The number 82 is inspired by Psalm 82, a passage that calls for defending the vulnerable and advocating for those in need: “Defend the weak and the fatherless; uphold the cause of the poor and the oppressed. Rescue the weak and the needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked.”

This foundation reflects the organization’s continued focus on prevention, education, and community awareness. Alongside the rebrand, Beacon82 is also introducing its updated mission statement:

Mission Statement: Beacon82 is dedicated to defending all God’s children and preventing sexual exploitation through education.

Beacon82 will continue its work through:
