Effingham, IL – June 2, 2023, The Effingham County Chamber celebrates the opening of new businesses or locations and welcomes new Chamber members with ribbon cuttings, new member pictures, and other events and activities.
Enduring Freedom Ministries (EFM) in a non-profit, Christian organization located at 304 Southwest Street in Shumway, IL. EFM offers free services like food distribution dates, free groceries, haircuts, clothing rooms, a soup kitchen serving hot meals, plus the addition of the laundromat. The laundromat is open by appointment every Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday from 10:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
Sunrise Rotary was awarded a $2,000 District Grant in partnership with the Enduring Freedom Ministries (EFM) Laundromat project. Project components included: wall & floor prep and painting, plumbing installation, boiler removal and hole fixing, bathroom commode and door replacement, and washer, dryer, sink and table installation. A total of 200+ hours were spent on the project by club members.
