Effingham, IL, August 23, 2024 — The Effingham County Chamber, in partnership with the Effingham Daily News, announces the opening of nominations for the 2024 Class of Top Community Leaders: Under 40 and Up & Coming, presented by HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital.

Now in its 17th year, the Top Community Leaders: Under 40 Award recognizes individuals who have demonstrated exceptional leadership, business success, and community engagement. This award is reserved for those between the ages of 20 and 40 as of August 1, 2024, who live and work within Effingham County and have made a significant impact through their leadership and philanthropic efforts.

In addition, the Up & Coming Leader Award returns for its 5th year to honor promising young leaders from Effingham County’s high schools. Open to students aged 14 to 20, this award celebrates high-achieving students who are not only excelling academically, with at least a “B” average, but are also actively participating in extracurricular activities and leadership organizations. Eligible high schools include Altamont, Beecher City, Dieterich, Effingham, St. Anthony, and Teutopolis.

“This is an incredible opportunity to highlight individuals who are driving positive change and shaping the future of our community,” said Katie Koester, President & CEO of the Effingham County Chamber. “We encourage everyone to take part in nominating someone who exemplifies leadership, whether it’s an established professional or a young leader just beginning to make their mark.”

Nominations can be submitted online at the Chamber’s website via the Events Calendar at EffinghamCountyChamber.com/Events (November 21) or on the Chamber Awards page at EffinghamCountyChamber.com/Awards. The deadline for nominations is Friday, September 13, 2024.

The award winners will be honored at a special dinner event on Thursday, November 21, 2024, at the Keller Convention Center in Effingham. Additionally, Top Community Leaders will be featured in a special Top Leader Magazine, published by the Effingham Daily News. Professional headshots for the magazine will be taken by Piotrowski Studios.
