Illinois Legislative Update – HB 5228 (Webinar)
The Illinois General Assembly recently passed House Bill 5228, one of the most significant revisions to the Illinois Workers’ Compensation Act in recent years. Governor J.B. Pritzker signed the bill into law in early August, 2026. The new legislation- Public Act104-0792- will require employers, insurance carriers, and third-party administrators to modify certain claims handling practices, particularly those involving disputed medical treatment. This session will explore these changes and the practical implications to defending a claim including IMEs and utilization reviews.
