Effingham, IL – July 23, 2026 — Bright colors, bold flavors, and a waffle on a stick that’s hard to forget. Izy’s Shiver Shack, owned and operated by Isabela Vergara, is adding a sweet stop to Effingham County as one of the newest members of the Effingham County Chamber.
If you were at EffingHAM-JAM this past weekend, you may have spotted Izy’s Shiver Shack serving up refreshing shaved ice to help beat the summer heat. It was just one of the many local events where Isabela enjoys connecting with the community while sharing her growing menu of sweet treats.
Beyond her business, Isabela is committed to giving back to the community. She has sponsored pet adoptions through the Effingham County Humane Society and recently enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, reflecting the same dedication to service that she brings to her business and community.
With shaved ice, waffles on a stick, mini donuts, dirty sodas, and lemon shake-ups available in 40 flavors, Izy’s Shiver Shack has plenty to choose from. The colorful shaved ice may catch your attention first, but don’t overlook the waffle on a stick. It’s quickly becoming a customer favorite and is well worth adding to your order.
Whether you’re stopping by after a ballgame, visiting a community event, or simply looking for a reason to treat yourself, Izy’s Shiver Shack offers more than a cool treat. It offers a friendly face, great flavors, and a local business that’s making a positive impact.
Be sure to follow Izy’s Shiver Shack on Facebook @Izy’s Shiver Shack and Instagram @izysshivershack to see where they’ll be serving next, check out new menu items, and keep up with upcoming events.
Izy’s became a member of the Effingham County Chamber joining 600 businesses and organizations working together to strengthen the local business community.
