CHARLESTON, IL (07/22/2026) Eastern Illinois University’s School of Business has earned reaffirmation of accreditation from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) International, extending accreditation of its business and accounting degree programs through 2031.
“This reaccreditation reflects years of dedicated work by our faculty, staff, students, alumni, advisory board members and university leadership,” said Farhad Sadeh, chair of EIU’s School of Business. “Maintaining AACSB accreditation affirms the quality of our business and accounting programs and reinforces our commitment to continuous improvement. The recent strategic initiatives and organizational changes within the School of Business have strengthened our foundation and position the school well for continued success leading into the next review cycle.”
The decision follows a comprehensive peer review process in which the AACSB Peer Review Team recommended the continuation of accreditation. That recommendation was subsequently approved by the Continuous Improvement Review Committee, the Accounting Accreditation Committee and ratified by the AACSB Board of Directors.
AACSB accreditation is recognized internationally as a benchmark of excellence in business education. Fewer than six percent of business schools worldwide hold AACSB accreditation.
The reaffirmation recognizes the School of Business’ ongoing commitment to continuous improvement, student success, faculty scholarship and high-quality teaching while confirming that its programs continue to meet AACSB’s rigorous standards.
The accreditation review also recognized the school’s efforts to align its programs and operations with evolving AACSB standards and best practices. Recent organizational and strategic initiatives were developed to enhance academic quality, support student achievement and strengthen the school’s long-term mission.
AACSB International is the world’s largest business education alliance, connecting educators, students and businesses to create the next generation of business leaders. Since 1916, AACSB accreditation has served as the global standard for excellence in business education.
Eastern Illinois University’s School of Business offers undergraduate and graduate degree programs designed to prepare students for careers in accounting, finance, management, marketing, entrepreneurship and related fields.
