Decatur, Illinois, August 8th, 2025 – Land of Lincoln Credit Union (LLCU) donated $10,000 to the Decatur Public School District #61 in support of the upcoming Decatur Turkey Tournament. Craig Bundy, incoming Tournament Director, accepted the donation on Tuesday, August 5th. Bundy is taking over as Tournament Director this year after long-time Director, Mel Roustio, retired at the close of last year’s tournament after 23 years.
“We are very excited to continue our partnership as Presenting Sponsor of this long-standing, beloved Decatur tradition, “stated Cayla Hittmeier, LLCU Chief Marketing Officer. “I, personally, have fond memories of attending the Turkey Tourney while I was a student at Eisenhower High School, so it makes me very proud that we [LLCU] are now a part of keeping this tradition alive.”
The donation from LLCU is part of a five-year commitment as Presenting Sponsor of the Tournament that began in 2022. This year’s Tournament marks the 55th Annual Decatur Turkey Tournament and will take place November 25th – 29th at Stephen Decatur Middle School in Decatur, IL. The tournament features competitive high school basketball from numerous Illinois high schools and always promises action from several strong collegiate prospects from the area.
More information will be shared in the coming months regarding participating teams, tournament schedule, and how to obtain tickets to the tournament.
