Decatur, Illinois, August 7th, 2025 – Land of Lincoln Credit Union (LLCU) donated a monetary donation of $5,000 among several local area law enforcement agencies that fall within the communities served by LLCU. The donation was made in support and recognition of National Night Out on Tuesday, August 5th.

National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make communities safer. Numerous events, including block parties, cookouts, parades, safety demonstrations, and more are planned throughout central Illinois on this date by the area police departments.

“The events of National Night Out are a wonderful way for police to network and relate with community members in a positive way and we here at LLCU really just wanted to be some small part of that initiative to show support of local police and all they do for our communities,” stated LLCU President & CEO, Robert Ares.

The $5,000 donated was distributed among local police departments in each Illinois city that currently has an LLCU branch, which includes, Decatur, Springfield, Bloomington, Mattoon, Effingham, Pana, Nokomis, Vandalia, Centralia, and Colchester.

“We truly appreciate this donation and all the support we receive from LLCU throughout the year,” stated Vandalia Assistant Police Chief Jake Bowling. “This donation will go a long way in helping us strengthen our community relationships.”
