TEUTOPOLIS, IL – Vernon “Red” Tegeler, a leader at Siemer Milling Company, Teutopolis, IL, for over 52 years, retired on September 26.

Tegeler began work at Siemer Milling in 1972, while in high school. He was named head miller in 1985, Vice President Production in 1990, and Senior VP Strategic Initiatives in 2019.

Tegeler was also a devoted contributor to milling industry improvement. For this, he was recognized as Milling Operative of the Year by Sosland Publishing Co. in 1994. The next year he served his term as President of the International Association of Operative Millers (IAOM). In 2007, he received the seldom awarded Gold Medal for service to IAOM.
