Effingham, IL – May 8, 2023, The Effingham County Chamber celebrates the opening of new businesses or locations and welcomes new Chamber members with ribbon cuttings, new member pictures, and other events and activities.
Located next to Harmony Playground in Evergreen Hollow Park, the Evergreen Bark Park excitedly celebrated the opening of the dog park and completion of Phase One on Saturday, May 6.
This beautiful one+ acre dog park will provide owners and their four-legged friends with the room to get some extra steps in and run. Owners will have the option of releasing their dogs within either a large or small dog section. Both sections will be fenced and double-gated with entry corrals, so dogs can be let off leash before entering the park. ADA accessible walkways will be provided throughout the park. A pavilion, shade structures, benches, waste stations, and human water fountains with a dog-level water bowl and spout are included on the plans for the park property. There will also be a rinsing station to clean up your canine before putting him/her in your vehicle.
Funds are still being raised to complete the project. The next phases include water fountains, benches, sidewalks, and shade structures.
