Effingham, IL – Poss Music Works, based in Effingham, IL, has been awarded a Tourism Attractions & Festivals Grant. The $32,650 in funds will be allocated towards Moccasin Creek Festival, which will take place June 22-25, 2023 at The Stage at Lake Sara in Effingham, IL.
Located at the stunning Lake Sara a mere 5 miles west of Effingham, Illinois, Moccasin Creek Festival is an annual family-friendly celebration of Americana music and community. With local and national musical artists, on-site food and beverage vendors, activities for kids, and the option for camping or renting a nearby cabin or hotel room, the festival offers something for everyone.
This grant, aimed at supporting local festivals and attractions to boost tourism within the state, has been awarded to 89 recipients across Illinois.
Poss Music Works is a non-profit organization (501c3 NFP) that aims to promote music and culture in the Downstate Illinois region. With Effingham, IL as its base, the organization presents music festivals and one-off shows that feature both national and regional touring acts. Additionally, Poss Music Works hosts youth and community events throughout the year. Founded by Bill Passalacqua in 2018, the organization is committed to fulfilling his vision for the area’s music community. One of its key objectives is to inspire and cultivate an interest in Americana music among the region’s youth.
