Transportation Director – Mechanic

Transportation Director

This staff member works closely with bus drivers, other district staff and families to ensure that each student, through safe and efficient transportation, is able to take full advantage of the complete range of curricular and extra curricular offerings. Responsibilities include supervision of all transportation personnel, administration of the budget, maintenance planning for all district owned equipment, and other related job description tasks as determined by administration. The ideal candidate will have a general knowledge of school buses and related equipment, can maintain positive working relationships and has excellent communication skills. This position may be combined with the Mechanic for the right candidate.

Mechanic 

Under the supervision of the Transportation Director and/or the Superintendent, this position is responsible for keeping the district’s fleet of vehicles in such a state of operating excellence that they present no problems or interruptions to the educational transportation program. Responsibilities include performing regular maintenance, completion of state inspections, and diagnostics and coordination of repairs. The ideal candidate will have a specialization in repairing and maintaining vehicles and can fill in as a bus driver in their absence. This position may be combined with the Transportation Director for the right candidate.
