Minor past infractions can sometimes be a bar to employment or promotion and can limit the pool of worthy job applicants. Expungement removes these infractions from a potential employee’s criminal record.

The Effingham County Chamber in partnership with our Workforce Development Committee and volunteer attorneys from Effingham are planning an Expungement Day event on October 14, 2023. The goal for the event will be to help people with qualifying arrests and convictions petition the court to expunge or seal their records.

The First Friday Luncheon Informational Meeting is a great resource for Chamber businesses (& community businesses) who are interested in becoming a second-chance employer, businesses who want to further expand their company in doing more to help these individuals, or community members who need a second-chance at making a positive impact from their past.

Cost: $20 per person

*Cancellations and refunds will be issued in full if received on or before noon CST Monday, February 27. After noon CST on February 27, no refunds will be issued. If the event is rescheduled, all registrations will be honored for the rescheduled date or may be refunded in full with a refund request**.
